According to some legends, the establishment of Prague began within these castle ruins. This castle is where mythical Princess Libuse predicted the glory of the Golden City. We begin a leisurely walk toward the ramparts to enjoy breathtaking views from the cliff, and discuss legends and historical facts. We will visit the actual locations of Prince Horymír’s escape, and the pillar brought to Vysehrad by the Devil himself! We will walk around the Vysehrad Cemetery, where the heroes of Bohemia have been buried for centuries, and see the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul.

We conclude the day with an exploration of the casemates, the secret passages allowing soldiers to move undetected, and an underground hall called “Gorlice”, which houses the original statues from the Charles Bridge!

Prague Castle after Dark
Time: 6 pm (Sept. 1- May 31), 7 pm (June 1-August 31)
Duration: 3 hours
Price: 390 CZK (tram ticket included)

As the crowds thin and twilight descends, the lantern illuminates our journey. Starting from the Old Town Square we wander through streets rich in history, architecture, and legends. Other day tours stuff travellers into the same standard tour routes; these are big groups with a guide you can’t hear.

We visit the castle in the evening, when it is empty and peaceful. Also, we will not be standing in long lines. Kings and Queens enjoyed these areas in their tranquility, and so will we!

We’ll visit the Monastery where monks brewed “the holy beer” for the King. We’ll stroll at a leisurely pace through the Monastery, New World, Prague Castle, the King’s Vineyard, and other ancient enchanting landmarks.

Our tour offers a mixture of facts, mysteries and legends to entertain and inform.

Compare the “legends” and the “true stories” for historical accuracy and cultural significance.

On this 3-hour tour we cover:

•Old Town Square
•St. Nicholas’ Church
•Rudolfinum – Czech Philharmonic
•Amazing Panoramic Views
•Strahov Monastery and Brewery
•The Loreto
•Domeček Gestapo / STB Prison
