Fancy a day at the races? Get yourself along to Pardubice Racecourse!
The journey time to Pardubice on a fast train is about 60 minutes (104 kilometres). The journey is comfortable and inexpensive. A first class ticket, one way, costs about 200 CZK (US$7.78, GBP5.18, 7.32EUR). (There is a surcharge for 'Intercity' trains.) On Fridays (out of Prague) and on Sundays (into Prague) the trains may be crowded, so a first-class ticket or an intercity train is recommended. A reservation is not necessary
by bus from Pardubice Railway station:
Buy an 8-crown ticket from a kiosk or a ticket machine. Walk straight out from the station and cross the main road. Take bus No. 8. Frank your ticket in the franking machine on the bus. The second stop (Paramo) is outside the racecourse. It is a five-minute walk to the main entrance.
Getting there - by car
Find your way out of Prague on to the road to Kolin and Prelouc. The racecourse is on your right as you enter Pardubice. (The motorway route is longer and more complicated).
There is plenty of car parking space on the racecourse, except on Velka Pardubicka day, when cars are parked at Pardubice Airport, next to the course, and a bus service is provided.
