Bishop Frantisek of Dietrichstein from Olomouc had the Renaissance chateau with a thin tower in the faÁade built on the site of an older fortress after 1615. From then on, the estate belonged to the Olomouc archbishopric. The chateau, damaged during the 30 years war was renovated and widened according to a G. P. Tencally project at the beginning of 18th century, and has retained this look through some 19th century renovations to this day. The Romanic interiors, which contain an exhibition of historical weapons and a memorial to painter Emile Filly, who was born in Chropyne, aside from others, are open to the public.
